Believing!
Now doesn't that sound easy? Everyone knows what it means...
From Dictionary.com.....to have confidence in the truth, the existence, or the reliability of something, although without absolute proof that one is right in doing so.
OK - so that doesn't sound that easy. It's always the really simple stuff that turns out to be the hardest stuff to do.
In our case, or how I use it on this blog, I mean exactly what this definition says: to have confidence in the truth, existence or reliability of something without absolute proof being provided.
This is also called Leap of Faith. Remember that from Indian Jones & the Holy Grail....this was the way to the grail....1. Follow the footsteps of a penitent man, 2. kneel before the name of Yaweh, and 3. take the leap of faith. None of them were/are easy, but leap of faith?....all the time?....we all have that doubting Thomas in us.
Believing not only involves the leap of faith, but also patience, trust and determination. There are a lot of other things involved than just believing.
It's also amazing that all 4 gospels talk about Jesus's miracles and all the receiver had to do was believe....the two blind men, convulsing child, synagogue's leader's daughter, raising Lazarus from the dead...are just a few examples of all that Jesus required was believing. That's all he requires today.
You have made your prayers to the Lord, now your job is to believe, which is a lot harder than it sounds.
There are lots of tips along the way to help, but the bottom line is believing.
