There's all this talk about good feelings. This is the way to get to your goals.
So how do I get to those good feelings. You sort of know what they are and you certainly know what it means, and you certainly know them when you have had them, but with all that's going on, you know you haven't had these good feelings in quite a while.
So how do you get those good feelings? How is the best way to get to the place where you naturally feel good feelings?
How do I get there....well try this:
Imagine this for a moment. Stop today, what you are doing right now - OK you're reading this and continue to do that, but take a couple of deep breaths, and think:
Think about that for a moment.
What pops into you're head?
First, relief - you've made it - you don't have to struggle any longer.
Next? You look back on how you comported yourself during your worst days. How were you? You were honorable. You did not cut corners; you did not cheat; you did not steal; you did not lie. How proud of yourself are you? Very proud!
Now list all the ways you feel - whatever they are.
If you haven't already - write down how you feel. Do you feel proud?...relieved?...relaxed?...whatever. Do you feel that you can do anything? Do you have the desire to create something new to build on what you have already had success with? Write down all the feelings you have while you are in this state.
These feelings can help you maintain a sense of "even-ness" when the mean reds rear their ugly head or when you are just having a tough time - whether it's an hour or month long.
Now you beginning to understand the vital importance of meditation and prayer? It is one of those vital parts that your spirit - your Holy Spirit can not live without. It is as much important to your spirit as water is to your body.
Meditation also allows you to focus on those good feelings...to amplify them and certainly to focus on them to a point that when you need them again, not only are they easier to call up, but you can begin to know what to do, think, see, hear, to get those feelings back.
Of course you realize here I'm talking about really good feelings.....not feelings that you force or pleasantries that you share with others...I'm talking about genuine real good feelings.
So how do you get to good feelings.
- Write them down when you have them, and go to this list when you need them again.
- Practice focusing on them on a regular basis, either through affirmations, meditation or just reading and concentrating on them
- Get to know them closely, and realize that you are worthy of good feelings and not only want to have them, but that it is OK to want them and to receive them.
Now go out there and experience your own good feelings!
