Right now I'm finishing up my Chanel jacket (yes, miracles never cease) for my jacket class in February. It's coming along beautifully, but had to stop to work on a pair of killer gorgeous Italian 120 weight wool pants for a client. I had been doing so much hand work on the jacket, that I did all hand top stitching on the pants. This hand-stitching can be addictive!
What I kept thinking, while working ont he Chanel jacket, was how much Karl now brings in for a custom designed/sized jacket....which is what each and every one of the gals are doing over on the Chanel blog.
Well, I looked it up...off the rack (no sizing, custom or nothing) is $5,000....that's cheap. But the custom fitted jacket - is a cool $20,000! This is how much value each and every one of those jacket creators is creating.
Puts things in perspective!
